Q. WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
A. Hypnosis is a normal, natural state of mind. We are in this trance-state approximately 4 times per hour every day. It is an altered state of awareness where the subconscious mind responds immediately to positive suggestion.
Contrary to what you see in the movies, hypnotized people are not asleep or unconscious. Rather, they are in a highly focused form of concentration. Have you ever been so involved in watching a movie that you couldn't hear the person sitting next to you trying to talk to you? This is a simple form of hypnosis.
Q. CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTIZED?
A: Yes, as long as they want to be. A willing strong-minded person makes the best subject.
Q. WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO BE HYPNOTIZED?
A: There is a profound relaxation and contentment, you are not asleep or unconscious.
Q. CAN A PERSON GET STUCK IN A HYPNOTIC TRANCE?
A: Absolutely not. It’s impossible. Even if the participant were to be left in a trance state, they would wake up on their own by slipping into natural sleep.
I am a certified hypnotherapist by the National Guild of Hypnotists and a graduate of a licensed training facility.
Q. CAN A PERSON BE MADE TO DO SOMETHING AGAINST THEIR WILL?
